Harry had some amazing knowledge and stories about the lifestyle of the Inuit people. I am so grateful to the community members for sharing with us.
These pictures are from my second trip to Cambridge Bay, this time in June, 2009. My friend Maryrose, her husband Harry and their two grandchildren took us on a driving tour of the local area.

I've been to Cambridge Bay, Nunavut twice and I'm going back in Oct/Nov. I really like it there, the people are terrific and the views are breathtaking. I love the North! We were there in March, 2007 to do some training for community members from various communities. It was cold! There was one day when the wind chill factor was -57. I did not go outside as much as I wanted to. The air is crisp and clean! There are no trees and lots of rolling hills. There was snow as far as the eye can see. There were some hunters going out on their skidoo's. I was told there is some tourism for hunting expeditions and it is one way some of the community members make a living. It was a beautiful clear day when my new friend Maryrose took me for a drive around the community. This is a small creek with a bridge that takes you around to the cemetary and the Bay. A view of the cemetary. They dig so many graves in the fall as the ground is too hard over winter. A tower that connects the community to the world! I went trail riding this past weekend, first time ever on a horse. It was both scary and exciting. I had fun!!
